Sliding pad - AndrewD2 - 04-25-2019 Does anyone have experience with the silicone pad under the buttons sliding? The one under my "A" button (using all 4 buttons, with pads, no clicky sticks) keeps sliding a bit and I have to unscrew, push it over, and then reseal. Is there some kind of adhesive that would work OK for something like this without causing issues? RE: Sliding pad - Flavor - 04-25-2019 Can you post a couple photos of how the pads are, maybe from the underside of the front shell before you screw the shell into place. RE: Sliding pad - AndrewD2 - 04-29-2019 Thanks for the response, sorry for the delay. The bottom one (lower grey button there) tends to slide a little away from the screen after some use. Just enough that it cocks the button and the pad no longer connects. RE: Sliding pad - Bedwyr - 04-29-2019 Key question from me putting my systems engineer hat on: do you have issues with the D-pad and start/select? Nope, those all work fine, as do the other 3 buttons. RE: Sliding pad - AndrewD2 - 04-29-2019 And here's a couple pictures from the unit after I played a bit and it slid. RE: Sliding pad - Porcinus - 04-29-2019 On my build, i have glued the silicon pads to the ABXY button (just a little drop of superglue), it is far easier to keep everything in place. I had been considering just that. I just hadn't done it yet because I wasn't sure how CA glue and silicone would work RE: Sliding pad - Porcinus - 04-29-2019 On my side, it stick really well, too much if you want to recover the silicone pad for something else. RE: Sliding pad - Bedwyr - 04-29-2019 A drop of Beacon Zip Dry (like a stiffer kind of rubber glue used for papercraft) or even white glue should work as well. The problem is that the dome switches are fabricated as one piece with a hole for an alignment pin in the shell. They reinforce each other and cutting single switches out lets them shift and twist. So you need an alternate means of anchoring. |
