Everdrive GB
#1
Well, it's here, and for $78 it can be yours. Krikzz did a great job with this one, as it blows the competition out of the water. Here are the official specs:
  • Game Boy And Game Boy color games supported
  • Max. ROM size up to 8Mbyte
  • Compatible with all systems which supports GB and GBC cartridges, including Super Game Boy
  • Supported mappers: MBC1, MBC2, MBC3, MBC5
  • SRAM auto backup on SD card
  • Supported micro SD up to 32GB
  • FAT32 are supported
  • GameGenie cheat codes
  • Simple menu

This means the cartridge will be compatible with all software, excluding only games and programs, which require additional hardware. Up until now there was no way of playing Densha De Go 2, which was the only 8MB game, but since that's the upper limit on Everdrive GB, it will be compatible. Best of all, no more USB or LPT. Images and save states are stored on a MicroSD.

Since Krikzz is running out of consoles to make flash devices for, I again hope that he'll consider the WonderSwan. He has tons of experience by now, and means of manufacturing on a larger scale, so here's to hoping.
