Neo Pocket Flashmasta not visible in NeoLinkMasta
#1
Hello everyone, I hope you all had a nice Eastern Weekend. Speaking of Eastern, I'm struggling to "resuscitate" my Neo Pocket Flasmasta Wink

A brief description of the situation:
  • The NeoLinkMasta program won't recognize the cartridge.
  • Zadig finds a "USB input device" (or "Périphérique d'entrée USB" because my computer is in French) as does Windows.
  • No matter which driver I choose (USB Serial CDC - Win USB v6.1.7600.16385 - libusb-win32 (v1.2.6.0) - libusbK (v3.0.7.0) none of it makes the cartridge visible in the NeoLinkMasta. Nore does the "Install WCID Driver"...
I tried 2 different PCs, 3 different Cables, 4 different USB plugs.
I tried on Xubuntu but couldn't launch the executive. However the device appears under an Atmel name
I tried to reset the cartridge using the utilities Ed provided me 4 years ago. But without success, seems the reseting process doesn't goes to its end.
I tried to "uninstall" the device in Windows. Did not change much.
I renamed the "USB input device" into Neo Pocket Flash Masta USB". Didn't work...
I tried an older version of Zadig but it didn't change anything.

I'm a bit in despair and I hope you can help me.

Thanks in advance for your replies, let me know if you need further information.

I think the clue here might be the "Atmel name" line. You may need to re-flash the firmware.

Would you please submit a SUPPORT inquiry at https://www.flashmasta.com/about/contact/

If possible, pop it back in the Xubuntu machine and run 'lsusb' and add the output of that in the SUPPORT inquiry.

Also, maybe tell us what you did where you say "using the utilities Ed provided me." Was that a firmware update?

Do you have a command-line version of the linkmasta software? That might help debug some things, too.

Hello Flavor, thank you for your answer and sorry for my late reply.
Please find under this link a screenshot of the lsusb command on Linux.

You are right, the utilities were for a firmware update. Back in the days (2017) the Cartridge was already not recognized on my Windows, Mac and Linux computers, and you send me a zip file. I had to reset the cartridge twice.

I don't have the command line version of the Linkmasta software  Smile

Oh, man. I'm sorry about the delayed response here. I opened it in a couple browser tabs and then didn't get back to it until just now. Sad

The "03eb:2067" means that it is in bootloader mode. It's waiting for a firmware.

Submit a SUPPORT inquiry at https://www.flashmasta.com/about/contact/ and we'll make sure you have the proper firmware to apply. It sounds like you may already have it.

There's also a (probably very small) chance that there is a hardware problem that makes it not accept the new firmware. I don't think we have a firmware update package for Linux. It should run on Win or Mac. If you can apply the firmware using Win or Mac, then you can try the 'lsusb' again. After the new firmware is loaded, it should come up differently (no longer showing "ATMEL").
